Internet, a token of modernized society, is becominga portion of mankind's life at a soaring rate, and isplaying an important role in our industrialized socialcontext. The network resources comprise thenetwork facilities and network information. Theformer provides us with the ability of complicatedcomputation and telecommunication while thelatter provides us with rich categories and largeamount of data for downloading or skimming.

The noticeable functions of internet make us advocate the standpoint that nobody couldactually assess its impacts on human life. Internet has exhibited us kinds of cultures, whichenlarges our horizon and enriches our life. Meantime activities among internet users shortenthe connection of people worldwide. One could skim news, bulletins, posters and banneradvertising on the internet at home. Applicants could fill in files systematically and registerwithout presence. One could bid welfare to friends with electronic postcard through email, costing no postage. Businessmen could conduct payments of imports and exports at minimumcost. Engineers could draw graphs or charts. Students could select their favorite tutors andpolicemen could refer to the feedback of penalties.

网络诸多显而易见的功能使我们不得不承认21世纪网络对人类生活的影响是难以估量的。网络给我们展示了不同的文化，拓展了我们的视野，丰富了我们的生活。同时，各种定期举办的网上活动拉近了世界各国人之间的距离。坐在家中即可浏览新闻，公告，海报以及各种各式的广告；申请人可以按步骤填写表格，轻松地进行网上注册；人们可以通过电子贺卡表达对朋友的祝福，而不必花费邮费；商人可以利用互联网进行进出口贸易的转账业务以节约成本；工程师能利用网络制图；学生可以在网上挑选自己喜爱的老师；警察可以在网上追踪罚款的支付情况等等。

Whereas it has advantages, when illegal activities through websites discount their value, theinternet becomes a combination of both an angel and a devil. For example, the commissionof a company could call remote video councils among the personnel in different places. Onthe contrary, there are hostile hackers who steal business documents. In addition, gamblingonline might trouble victims with great debts. Cops have verified that convicts by usage ofinternet have been liable to be a widespread social problem which is hard to get rid of.

尽管互联网有很多优点，当诸多网络犯罪问题使其大打折扣时，网络成了天使和魔鬼的双重化身。例如，因为有了网络，公司可以异地召开协调会，但另一方面，也有不法黑客盗取商业文件。此外，网络赌博也会使人们巨债缠身。警察也已经证实网络犯罪很有可能成为一种影响广泛但难以摆脱的社会问题。

Therefore, internet is like a doubleedged sword only provided the government shields onbehalf of the public, enforces relative policies and legislations, supervises the admission of netinformation, and bans the rubbish websites, can we make full use of Internet.

由此可见，网络是一把双刃剑。只有政府维护公众利益，实施相关政策和法律，加强网络审查，取缔不良网站，这样网络才能充分发挥有效作用。
