Good morning, my dear judges. I’m No.5. Today, I will present my teaching ideas about Unit5 My Clothes. May I begin? Thank you.
It’s my great honor to have this opportunity to interpret my teaching design here. The topic of this lesson isMy Clothes. According to the New Curriculum Standard, I will present my teaching ideas with following aspects:
Firstly, please allow me to talk about the teaching material. This lesson is chosen from PEP English book, the second semester of grade4, Unit5. The main topic of this unit is about clothes. After finishing this lesson, students could learn some new words such as hat, dress, shoes, and could make some sentences using these words. It is very helpful for students to connect real life with English learning.

Secondly, let’s move on to the students. Our students are in grade4. They are quite curious and energetic, they have a basic understanding of English after a period time studying. As they are lack of patience and concentration, I will take the advantage of pictures, tape recorder and multi-media facilities as Teaching Aids to make an vivid class environment.
Thirdly, I set three teaching aims according to the New Curriculum Standard in English. They are knowledge aims, ability aims and emotional aims.
The first is knowledge aims: students can read,recognize and use the new words like hat, shoes, dress, and master the usage of target sentences Is this…? Yes, it is. No, it isn’t. Are these…? Yes, they are. No, they aren’t.
The second is ability aims: by the end of this lesson, students can improve their listening and speaking abilities and apply these knowledge into their daily life.
The last is emotional aims: after this lesson, the interests of students learning English can be motivated, and their awareness of cooperation also can be fostered.
Now, I’d like to put forward the key point and difficult point. The key point is to make sure students can use these words to express sentences correctly and the difficult point is how to make dialogues with these sentence structures.
After above analysis, let’s come to the teaching methods and studying methods. Students are the main body of instruction, so I’ll combine Task-based Teaching Method, Situational Teaching Method and Audio-Lingual Approach to cultivate their good learning habits. Students through group work and role play become a good self-learner.
The next part is the most important---teaching procedures. It is made up of 4 steps.
Step1 Warming up and Lead-in.
After greeting with the students, I will first invite the whole class to sing a song Good morning to you together, in this way, it can help create a better English learning surrounding. Then I will ask students to draw pictures about their favorite clothes on the paper and hand in. Then I’ll pick up some pictures and ask them questions. For example, I choose a hat and ask
